About the Class
The word ‘hatha’ means wilful or forceful. Hatha yoga refers to a set of physical exercises known as ‘asanas’ or postures, and sequences of ‘asanas’, designed to align your skin, muscles, and bones. The postures are also designed to open the many channels of the body especially the main channel, which is the spine, so that energy can flow freely.
Hatha is also translated as ha meaning “sun” and tha meaning “moon.” This refers to the balance of masculine aspects – active, hot, sun – and feminine aspects – receptive, cool, moon – within all of us. Hatha yoga is a path towards creating balance and uniting opposites.
In our physical bodies we develop a balance of strength and flexibility. We also learn to balance our effort and surrender in each pose.
Hatha yoga is a powerful tool for self-transformation. It asks us to bring our attention to our breath, which helps us to still the fluctuations of the mind and be more present in the unfolding of each moment.
Classes are different weekly as we tend to flow with how the week is going. If the full moon or new moon is in swing, classes may flow at a gentle pace so that we can concentrate on deep stretches and openers. Otherwise, the classes will provide space for you to give yourself a deeper challenge, if that’s what you want, by performing some more challenging asanas, but always making sure to remind you to listen to your body and not force yourself into any pose.
Hatha Yoga is so great because you can choose to stick to the basics but can also add some play into the sequence if needed. We always hope that you leave feeling that sense of space that is so much needed, and calmness that we all long for. Please remember to bring a bottle of water and a towel.

Entitles you to 5 yoga/pilates classes. These classes are to be used within 6 weeks from the sale date.
Entitles you to one yoga/pilates class. This class is to be used within 1 month from the sale date.
